Coping with Caregiver Burnout

Anyone working in aging services is a caregiver of some kind. Caregivers manage elders’ physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs while managing their own lives, needs, families and careers. Understanding caregiver burnout and taking steps to keep ourselves healthy to avoid burnout is critical for any caregiver. This course will provide valuable tools to help caregivers cope with the challenges of the important work of this profession.

This caregiver training course is delivered in 6 short modules allowing the learner to pause as needed. A Certificate of Completion, valid for 2 years from the course completion date, will be issued upon successfully completing each course. Online caregiver training courses are approved by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners for 1 hour of CEUs for CDP and CADDCT recertification.

In this online caregiver training, the learner will:

  • Relate the importance of caregiving while identifying signs of burnout
  • Identify coping strategies to prevent and resolve burnout and to promote personal well-being
  • Recognize family caregiver burnout and how to relate to them with empathy
