Compassionate Touch® is an approach combining skilled touch and specialized communication shown to prevent behavioral expression in people with dementia and reduce job stress in care-partners. In palliative care, it provides skilled touch with compassionate presence to enhance quality of life for those in the later stages of life.

Compassionate Touch training empowers care partners to achieve goals related to person-centered care and reduction of unnecessary use of antipsychotic medication. This practical, evidence-informed approach literally puts in caregiver’s hands a non-pharmacological solution that:

Compassionate Touch Certified Coach Training

Upon successful completion of the six hour e-learning training course, participant is designated as a Compassionate Touch® Certified Coach and as such, may share techniques with other professionals and families, have access to an online portal of coach resources, receive quarterly newsletters and be invited to special Coach Connect quarterly learning webinars.

Participants will receive a comprehensive training manual, technique supplies and a Compassionate Touch Caregiver pin.

Compassionate Touch® Certified Community Designation

This designation is for eldercare communities who wish to train a minimum of 3 coaches and provide a Benchmark Assessment post-training. Upon completion, communities will be issued a Compassionate Touch Community Certificate for lobby or other designated areas.

$575 per community – includes 3 coach trainings and training packs, Benchmark Assessment and 30-minute Q & A with a Certified Trainer, Lobby Certificate, Social Media or Website Badge. Additional coaches $195 each. Material shipping fees apply.

Certified Community License Renewal: $295 and includes one coach training, discounted training fee for additional coaches ($195), continued access to online resources, Coach Connect newsletter and webinars, and a Benchmark Assessment and 45-minute Q & A with Certified Trainer.

Registration Process
  • Upon registration and payment, Training Packs with manuals will be sent out. A link to the AGE-u-cate Training Portal will be sent via email. Training can begin when the Training Pack and manual arrive.
  • Within approximately 24 to 48 hours, registrants will receive an email confirmaton to the email address given to us during the registration with a link to our training portal.
How does the e-LearningTraining work?
  • Our web based training is the same high-quality training as our in-person training except that it is conducted via the Internet with our specialized online e-learning training program.
  • The e-Learning training program consists of two online modules and one self-directed on-site practice. After receiving their Training Pack, your staff can begin our online training program at any time convenient to them, progressing at a self-directed pace.
  • The e-Learning training will prepare and authorize coaches to train staff in their facility or organization on the Compassionate Touch techniques and and how to conduct family or community presentations. Learners must have their training manuals with them during the training
  • All that is required to participate in our e-Learning program is a tablet PC (such as an iPad), laptop, or desktop computer (Mac or PC) with speakers and an Internet connection.
