In this online caregiver training, the learner will:
  • Define empathy and identify behaviors and communication skills that convey empathy to others
  • Recognize how to foster one’s ability to relate to others with empathy
  • Identify the purpose of skilled touch in providing quality care
  • Learn the role of skilled touch hand, back and foot techniques as tools to increase the elder’s well-being by incorporating it into routine care
  • Learn the role of compassionate presence in relation to care partnering
