Stress Reactions: How to Support People Living with Dementia

Caring for a confused or agitated person that behaves in ways you don't understand is often challenging and stressful. In this course, you'll gain an understanding of why people with dementia sometimes behave as they do in reaction to stress. You'll also learn how to identify, prevent, and skillfully respond to individuals living with dementia. You'll gain practical strategies on how to respond to some of the most common triggers of stress reactions: physical discomfort, unmet social needs, unsupportive environment, and ineffective care partner responses, and how to engage family members to help prevent stress reactions.

This caregiver training course is delivered in 6 short modules allowing the learner to pause as needed. A Certificate of Completion, valid for 2 years from the course completion date, will be issued upon successfully completing each course.
