Creating a Welcoming Environment for Family Visits

How do we prepare for engaging family visits? This caregiver training session will help staff members to better understand and respond to the emotional needs of family members, especially after an extended period of not being able to see or touch their loved one in person. Including families as part of the care team will lead to improved quality of life and quality of care for residents in your community.

This caregiver training course is delivered in 6 short modules allowing the learner to pause as needed. A digital badge and certificate of completion, valid for 2 years from the course completion date, will be issued upon successfully completing each course. This online training course is approved for 1 CEU for LPNs, RNs, Social Workers, PTs, OTs, Nursing Home Administrators and more. Re-certification credits are also available for Certified Dementia Practitioners.

In this online caregiver training, the learner will learn:
  • About the motional impact on families from COVID-19
  • A deeper level of understanding and empathy for family members as it relates to their loved ones
  • How to identify ways to help visitors feel welcome, engaged and confident in the care they are receiving in your community
