Certification Training Options

AGE-u-cate is committed to providing our practitioner partners with the tools and education necessary to provide high quality, consistent tools to use with sector groups, professionals and families. We offer a certification path that combines on-site learning, in-home study, and comprehension skills benchmark assessments.

1. Certified Dementia Live® Practitioner Training (CDLP)
Professionals will take a deep dive into the Dementia Live awareness and training program by learning the evidence research that supports this incredibly powerful foundation training tool, dissecting all facets of program implementation and how to apply DL training to a variety sector groups and individuals. In addition, the CDLP intensive training includes:

  • Applying all Dementia Live Empowerment Tools to training and education
  • Reminiscense training using AGE-u-cate’s Flashback program
  • Working with elder care providers, hospice, hospitals and other sector groups
  • Offering CEUs using the Dementia Live experience as a core foundational tool
  • Understanding your role as a CDLP and AGE-u-cate practitioner partner

CDLPs who have completed and successful passed all benchmark testing may use the program to train any sector group and professionals in a variety of settings.

2. Certified Compassionate Touch® Practitioner Training (CCTP)
Professionals will dig deeper with the Compassionate Touch training by learning the evidence and science behind touch to support this transformational training tool, learning all facets of program implementation and how to apply CT training to all sector groups and individuals. In addition, the CT intensive training includes:

  • Teaching staff and families how to engage and connect
  • Learning the foundational tools of validation methods
  • Reminiscence training using AGE-u-cate’s Flashback program
  • Working with elder care providers, hospice, hospitals and other sector groups
  • Learning the various CT training levels to teach care staff and families
  • Offering CEUs
  • Understanding your role as a CCTP and AGE-u-cate training partner

CCTPs who have completed all benchmark testing may use the program to train any sector group and professionals in a variety of settings.

Step-Up Program to Certified Master Trainer:

Both CDLP and CCTP programs offer step-up opportunities to becoming a Certified Master Trainer (CMT) in either or both of these disciplines. CMT candidates have shown demonstrated capabilities, knowledge and skills that will allow you to train others to be certified professionals.

How it Works
Training takes place over 2 consecutive days (10 hours each day) and requires pre- and post reading assignments, post training practice work and video assignments which will ensure mastery-skills, training evaluations and working with AGE-u-cate training mentor.

Each training day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.
20- person maximum in each class

Grapevine, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth)

Certified Dementia Live Practitioner Training 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Cost $950 plus required purchase of Dementia Live gear pack $300 (10% discount off retail price).

Certified Compassionate Touch Practitioner Training 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Cost $950 plus required materials cost (manual and CT materials) of $35

Note: For those who wish to attend both sessions, we offer a $100 discount.

  • I have a college degree, clinical background and/or other certifications in this field
